The IICT offers a variety of memberships to suit practitioner needs. You can view all the member benefits and options by clicking here

In most cases your IICT Membership will be approved within 5 business days but it may be approved within 24 hours depending upon the number of our pending applications. Once you have been approved for IICT membership and have been issued a membership number, you can apply for insurance cover via our online application.

Insurance turn around times do vary, but in most cases you'll have a cover note in place the same day you apply. Our brokers will then issues you with a confirmation email with your invoice and policy details within 3 business days. First step is to join IICT. Once you are an approved member, we will provide you with access to our members special rates for insurance cover with Aon.

In order to keep our membership fees at the lowest possible price, we do not offer provider numbers directly to members.

Yes, we accept Practitioners and Therapists who have gained qualifications internationally, provided their certification and training meets our criteria and internationally recognised standards.  The IICT also recognises ITEC qualifications for a variety of modalities from overseas practitioners.

The IICT now recognises over 1,200+ complementary therapies. Depending upon the modality will depend upon the level of qualification recognised for membership. We generally do not acknowledge courses which lack the necessary level or length of training. However, we do offer a diverse number of natural therapies as well as recognising numerous international qualifications. The IICT also welcomes training providers who offer correspondence and distance education courses in natural therapies.

Yes. If you reside in one of IICT's approved regions (now operating in 26 Countries) you can join as a member. If you reside outside of Australia or New Zealand, simply click on the country flags at the top right of our website and you will be re-directed to one of our overseas branches. As a practitioner with qualifications from overseas you will need to attach copies of these qualifications along with the IICT membership registration form online. If the qualifications are in another language other than English your certificates will need certified translation and witnessed by a JP to officiate the documents. We then do a background check on your qualification and training to see if you qualify for membership with the IICT.

We encourage all our Members to take out comprehensive Insurance with our recommended brokers. In order to maintain IICT Membership each new member is required to have taken out Practitioner Insurance within six (6) months of joining the IICT.

Yes, we welcome membership to members of existing Associations.

No, the Insurance package is available for all IICT members. Once we provide you with membership approval this gives you full access to the Insurance packages provided by our brokers.

No, each employee is required to take out individual IICT Membership.

Yes, separate IICT Membership is required for each individual practitioner.

Yes, our Insurance Brokers can tailor a quote to meet your insurance needs. Whether you have one or a number of practitioners working under your business, (provided they are all IICT Members) a group and/or combined policy can be provided.

Any new qualifications that you have gained after you have been approved as an IICT Member, can be added onto your membership. Just send us a copy and we will add this to your file.

In order to have this added to your insurance policy, please contact our brokers and provide a copy. They can add your new qualification to your existing policy at no cost.

We recommend you join as a Student Member whilst undertaking training in natural therapies, then upgrade your membership once you graduate.

Your IICT membership is valid for 365 days from the day you register and pay for your membership and operates on an annual recurring billing system. Two weeks prior to your renewal, you are sent an email notice to advise you that your renewal is due and that your renewal fee will automatically be deducted from your nominated credit card. You can opt out of recurring billing anytime by contacting us.

The IICT is one of the few professional bodies to accept international qualifications. If you hold qualifications in a language other than English you will need to have these officially translated and provided the qualification/s meets our standards for membership we will be happy to provide you with professional affiliation.

It is not a requirement to do continued education in your fields of study in order to retain your IICT Membership. Although we recommend you do up-skill and keep up to date with the latest practices we do not enforce continued education and training. We grant membership on the basis of your existing qualifications, so provided your existing qualifications meet our membership criteria your membership status will be retained.

Yes, as and when you complete new qualifications, simply send us a copy and we will add these to your file for future reference. NOTE: We do not charge to make adjustments to your qualifications.

If you know of a modality that is not on our list or you are the founder and have pioneered a new modality, you may request to have this approved by the IICT for membership and insurance purposes. Fill out the New Modality Application form under the Membership menu to apply.

Although we always recommend all Practitioners learn first aid as part of their overall duty of care, you do not require a First Aid certificate in order to join the IICT.

Yes you can, but if you have no current qualifications and are studying, Student Membership is the correct membership for you. Once you have graduated, you can easily upgrade to our higher membership levels for qualified therapists.

Many customers assume IICT offers insurance or that we are a broker for insurers, however IICT is a professional membership body that provides membership to thousands of natural therapy practitioners world-wide. Obtaining Membership and insurance is a two step process. IICT’s purpose is to approve your qualifications. With membership, we can provide you with access to some of the world’s best insurance packages, so you’ll get the right cover at the best price for all your modalities. 

Here’s how it works: Step 1. Select a membership level that suits your needs.  You can join as a student or qualified professional therapist. Just fill out the application form, attach your qualifications and click submit. IICT will then review your application to verify your qualifications, ensuring everything checks out. Step 2. Get  Insurance. Once IICT approves your membership we will email you a link to access our members special insurance rates, saving you hundreds. Your IICT membership gives you instant approval with our insurers so you get the right cover for the right price.

IICT is truly unique. Unlike Associations that tend to cater to specific modalities, IICT represents the worlds largest list of recognised natural therapy modalities. IICT recognises your existing qualifications so you don’t have to under go expensive continued education requirements. There are no CPD point requirements and no need to re-train in order to keep your membership current. We also recognise international qualifications as well as online education and distant education.

You can choose a membership that best suits your business needs. Student membership is for practitioners in training, whereas Full and Executive Membership are for qualified therapists. Full membership gives your additional member benefits and includes a free listing on our members directory. Executive Membership offers you full business support and access to our premium training partners so that you can take your business to the next level.

Simply click on our Members area and enter your email address and password. Once you are in the members area you will be able to access all the features associated with your membership level.

If you wish to update your password or forgot your password; click on the forgot my password link in the members area and enter in the email address your originally registered with.

Once your membership is approved, you will be issued with a membership certificate. Your membership number is displayed on your IICT membership in the lower right hand side. You can also download your IICT membership certificate in our members area.

Just log into the members area with your email and password and select the icon ‘Member Downloads’. Here you can access our member seals and logos for use on your promotional materials; email signatures and website, to name a few.

Every time you refer a friend to IICT (and upon that friend being approved as a member), you qualify for a $10.00 referral commission. We pay our referrers monthly so the more friends you refer to IICT, the more referral commissions we pay you. We also give away free gifts such as gift vouchers and apple devices to our active referrers. To find out more, just log into the members area and select 'My Referrals' icon.

IICT bills its members on an automated 365 day recurring billing system. This means your membership is valid for a full 365 days from the date of registering with IICT. We also offer 2 and 3 yearly membership plans for a great discount; so your membership with IICT really is ‘set and forget’. Recurring Billing ensures your membership does not lapse and this guarantees you continue to access our members discounted insurance rates with our recommended insurance brokers. If you are in our recurring billing system, you will be emailed 14 days prior to your renewal, advising you that your nominated credit card will be debited for the selected renewal amount. If you do not wish to renew your membership you can cancel anytime by contacting IICT at:

It’s easy. Log into our members area and select ‘Profile’. From this page you can change your membership level and this will adjust accordingly. If you need help, just email our friendly team at:

From the members area, select ‘Upload Qualifications’ button. Here you can add any new qualifications to your membership and have these added to your profile to ensure these are covered by IICT for professional membership.

Unlike most Associations, IICT does not provide access to provider numbers for its members. Because IICT is not an Association, we fall outside the necessary requirements to grant health fund provider status. Many people are unaware that private health funds only provide rebates to a handful of modalities, so in many cases, your modality would not be eligible for health fund provider status. If you do find that you require provider number status, then we recommend you select a specialist Association for your chosen natural therapy.

In all but a few cases, your membership will automatically renew each year. However, if your membership has expired or you need to update your payment details, you can log into the members area and renew your membership by following the prompts on screen. Your Insurance policy is seperate from IICT. If you need to renew your insurance policy, please contact your insurance broker who you took out the policy with and they will be able to assist you with your requests. IICT holds no insurance details of members on file and we are unable to give you advice on your insurance needs.

We do not have this as a requirement to join IICT. Provided you can send IICT copies of your qualifications, we can approve your membership in most cases. We accept scanned images of qualifications as well as photos from mobile devices or screen shots from your computer. This insurance provides an indemnity limit os $500,000 in respect of each and every claim and $1,000,000 for all claims in the aggregate (the policy year). This section of the cover does not involve any excess, i.e. all claims are paid in full up to the amount of cover.

Cover also includes costs awarded against you as well as your own legal costs and expenses associated with the defence of a claim or complaint.

This section will cover legal costs and expenses incurred in the defence of any action or enquiry brought against you such as Medical Disciplinary Hearings, Committees of Enquiry, Courts Martial, ACC Enquiries, Privacy Complaints Tribunal, Coroners Courts and the like.

As a result of attendance at a court of enquiry because of a claim against you, you are unable to practice, the policy will pay loss off earnings up to $1,000 per week for a maximum of 13 weeks.

$1,000,000 for any one loss Covering your legal liability to the public for bodily injury and/or damage to third party property arising from your practice activities but excluding bodily injury resulting from a treatment process – covered by Professional Indemnity/Medical Malpractice above.
